Press Release – FLEETWASH JOINS AUSTRALIA’S LARGEST GAS PROJECT

September 4, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Fleetwash Industrial Systems Pty Ltd has been awarded a $2.5 million contract to design & manufacture three container wash systems as part of the Gorgon LNG Project. Fleetwash has designed, manufactured and installed vehicle wash systems internationally for over 20 years and remains one of Australia’s premier heavy vehicle wash manufacturing companies.

Director of Sales & Distribution for Fleetwash, Mr. Valentine Whitton, noted the importance of this contract: “We recognise that with this award, we will be able to employ local people, use local equipment and suppliers and contribute to our local communities.

He added “We are now a part of Australia’s largest single resource project, which demonstrates the standard of our equipment.

The Gorgon Project plans to develop the Greater Gorgon gas fields, located about 130km off the north-west coast of Western Australia. These fields, which contain about 40 trillion cubic feet of gas, Australia’s largest known gas resource.

Notes from all over

June 1, 2009 · Leave a Comment

The purchase of  new design software has enabled the design team to build virtual wash systems and to perform 3D prototyping of new systems before any weld is put to metal. The 3D drawings allow the sales team to present prospective clients with finely hand-crafted multiple 3D views of their new wash system. We are also using the new software to produce all our workshop and construction drawings.  Our trusty but 10 year old CAD program is being retired.

The recently completed relocatable site workshop will be able to support the installation team on the remote sites and enable complicated site specific alterations to be completed when required. The workshop has work space, solid work bench and all electrical hand tools and bench drills, drop down saws, versatile bench vice and an on board generator to ensure power supply is always on hand.

Marty Whitton completed a trip to the underbody wash quarantine system installed on the Savannah Way in Queensland to ensure we have been successful in our efforts to minimise the spread of noxious tropical weeds into the Etheridge Shire. The wash was designed to wash all vehicles entering the Shire and travelling from the Coastal areas. When the travel bug bites and you fancy a trek across the Savannah Way from Cairns QLD to Broome WA plan a  stop for a refreshing drink at the Mount Surprise Hotel, just 300 metres from our wash.

This unit was installed four years ago and was washed over 68,000 vehicles since then. This visit by Fleetwash ensured all systems are go and the dreaded tropical weed seeds are being washed off.

The diesel-powered relocatable underbody wash at the base camp of the works area for the potable water pipe line from the Wivenhoe Dam, Queensland, to Toowoomba has been in operation since the opening of the site works and is operating on a very busy daily schedule.

Website Updates

May 5, 2009 · Leave a Comment

The website is having a major (overdue!) update.

-The over-all look is the same, but it should load faster and be easier to navigate. -Photos our customers send have been given their own page now, instead of being lumped in with all the other photos.
-It is much easier to find info about the Speedywash brush washers and Deluge underbody washers, as well as the Bieffe and chemical products
-Each model Deluge will have its own page, with more info, photos, and downloadable Specs.pdf — this is in the works.

Our website is constantly growing as new products are added and new installations come on line. Keep checking for new content.

QBIC 2009

April 24, 2009 · 1 Comment

The Queensland Bus Industry Council hosted it’s annual conference this year on the 16th April at the Novotel in Twin Waters QLD.  We were one of about 20 exhibitors there to support the local bus and coach industry.  Patrick, our Sales & Distribution Manager along with Kate, our head of all things corporate attended the show.

We were able to catch up with some happy customers of ours, Polley’s Coaches and Caboolture Bus Lines for whom business is going well. Each had some good things to say about their current Speedywash Mobile Brush Washing unit which is always good to hear, we’ll see if we can get them to write some feedback for everyone to see.

So, in short, we had a good but short trip. Lovely to catch up with the local bus and coach industry, Queensland has been such an important place for Fleetwash to date.
